A Tale Of A King Of China

Episode 1. A Tale Of A King Of China

There was a king of China in history. The king had everything. He owned 5 castles and more than 80 wives. He had already owned everything since he was born. He had nothing to be jealous about as he conquered many other areas. Even for him, time passed by and he became 80 years old. He became sick. As his health deteriorated even more, he asked a favor to his most trustworthy servant. “I have enjoyed everything in the world but humans eventually grow old and die. I no longer need my kingdom, wives and wealth. If anyone can give me eternal life, I will give everything I have in return. Send out leaflets throughout the country.”
A Tale Of A King Of China
The leaflets are sent out around the country and the king waited for 3~4 years. No one turned out for the eternal life. His health deteriorated and eventually passed away.
Even a person who has everything in the world becomes sick and dies. Humans eventually vanish, so the most important thing in our life must be everlasting life. Even the king who had everything said that he could exchange what he owned for everlasting life.

Excerpt from the teacher Woo Myung’s book:
Wanderer
Wanderer, do not wander about
Without knowing where to go
Find your way and find your resting place
Know that the place to rest is not outside but inside you
Even if the whole universe disappears
The eternal resting place remains as it is and is alive
If you want to know this
Cleanse yourself and be reborn in the kingdom of Truth
This kingdom is the land of the Creator
Only this land is the land of Truth
Where there is eternal life.
Stop your wandering
Repent and be reborn as Truth
Then you will know the ways of the world
But man seeks such wisdom
Outside himself and thus cannot achieve it
Look within yourself

  1. Whether or not you believe Maum Meditation is a brainwashing cult, you should know that its credibility is built on a ridiculous lie. Its founder, Woo Myung DID NOT win a fictitious "Mahatma Gandhi Peace Prize" as its literature advertises. It's amazing and disturbing that such a bullshit claim could slip under the radar and never reach the globally expanding cult's followers.
This is directly quoted from Woo Myung's website (http://www.woomyung.com/woomyung/accolades/739) : "In September 2002, Woo Myung visited UN headquarters in New York, where he met the then President of UN General Assembly, Han Seung-soo and discussed the way to realize the world peace. After that, he visited the headquarters of the UN-NGO, International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP) in Huntsville, Alabama. There, the IAEWP awarded Woo Myung the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Prize for his contributions to human introspection and recovery of original nature, as well as reconciliation and peace, and appointed him as a World Peace Ambassador.
“Maum Meditation transcends the boundaries of all religions and cultures. And it is practiced truthfully without any falsehood and deception. While most diseases we have come from unnecessary desire, anxiety, and stress, Maum Meditation eliminates such minds and makes body and mind healthy. In addition, it enables us to solve wisely many problems we meet in our lives.” - Charles Mercieca, Ph.D., President of IAEWP, UN-NGO "
So what is IAEWP? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Association_of_Educators_for_World_Peace: "The International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP) is a nongovernmental organization and engaged in the promotion of peace education. The International Association of Educators for World Peace was founded in 1969[1][2] under the leadership of Charles Mercieca, a native of Malta who was on the faculty of Alabama A&M University.[2] On its website, it claims to be affiliated to the United Nations. The IAEWP has its headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama."
    IF THAT'S NOT ENOUGH:
There are actually FOUR awards that have anything to do with Gandhis and Peace:
We have the "International Gandhi Peace Prize": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandhi_Peace_Prize awarded annually by the Government of India. Recipients: NOT Woo Myung/Maum
Next we have the "Gandhi International Peace Award"" founded by the the "Gandhi Foundation": "a United Kingdom-based voluntary organisation which seeks to further the work of Mahatma Gandhi through a variety of educational events and activities." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandhi_International_Peace_Award#Gandhi_International_Peace_Award Guess who didn't get one!
And then the "Gandhi Peace Award": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandhi_Peace_Award presented annually since 1960 by the US NGO Promoting Enduring Peace: "a pacifist organization and United Nations non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Connecticut USA." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Promoting_Enduring_Peace) (THIS seems to be the award Maum are trying to get away with claiming to have won….but they didn't. Awk..)
If we really really want to give them the benefit of the doubt, there's the "Indira Gandhi Prize" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indira_Gandhi_Prize which they still DID NOT WIN.
