The Way to Become Truth Is That the Self Must Disappear

The way to become truth is that the self must disappear. Even through human history, many saints have said that the self should disappear. We have heard many sayings, such as ‘One should become nature without the self,’ however, it is not easy to find people who actually try hard to throw away the self. Humans have a sense of superiority, love only themselves, and live their life only for themselves. However, the self is the complete opposite of the truth that so many people want to become. Only when the self is eliminated, can they get closer to the life of the truth.

There is a folk story in Korea that was passed down from generation to generation. It is called the Story of Star and Sun. It tells through an interesting story how the stars and the moon in the night sky were created, just like the American folk stories regarding the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy.

A long, long time ago, two sisters named Star and Moon lived. They were put in a situation where they had to visit another village. They had to climb over a mountain to get there but a scary tiger was living in that mountain. Not just anyone could easily climb up that mountain but the brave sisters decided to climb over the mountain. Unsurprisingly, they met the tiger. The tiger said to the sisters that if they gave up one arm to him, he would save their lives. The sisters gave him an arm. Then, they continued their way through the mountain. But they encountered the tiger once again and this time, the tiger urged them to give up a kidney, so they gave it to the tiger. Throughout their way, the tiger continued urging them to give their body parts. They eventually gave everything of them. Even though their selves, Star and Moon, disappeared, they became the moon and star in the sky and lived happily ever after.

The self that people currently think of as their self is false. Just as Star and Moon were eaten up by the tiger, the self must be eliminated completely; then, the universe mind that is the origin appears. Humans must return to the mind of the universe and be born as the soul that never dies eternally. Then, they shall live the everlasting life that is the truth. If one tries to accomplish the truth while holding onto the self, it would never work. This is the same principle as when the sun cannot be seen if it is covered up by clouds. We can describe this through an analogy where the clouds are the self and the sun is the truth, the universe mind. Truth can be revealed when the self disappears.

Furthermore, there is a way for human to live forever if one becomes the truth that is real. The human body lasts on average about seventy to eighty years. And, humans believe that they go somewhere after they die. However, when human dies, that’s the end. Human does not go anywhere. The brain stops functioning upon death. Then, how can one know or even think about where they are going to? Upon death, it is just the end for humans. However, if humans become the true mind that exists forever and are born again as the soul that is truth, while living, the soul exists as it is even though this body disappears. That is the real purpose and reason why humans were born.

The Maum Meditation method that teacher Woo Myung has created is causing a sensation throughout the world. The reason is that there is the method of becoming truth while living – the method of living as the life that never dies eternally, while living. Now, it is the generation that everyone can become truth and everyone can prove it by themself. If one can really become truth through a method, the teacher who teaches that method must be truth, mustn’t it? It is said that only last year, thousands of people have already become the mind of the truth and live the life of the truth through Maum Meditation. An educational institution called Maum Meditation is the school of becoming the truth. Now, it is everyone’s turn to become so.

Salvation Is Not Your Self Living

Why do people need salvation and what exactly is salvation? It is the way of the world that all things in creation come from the original foundation and return to the original foundation. This is the law of nature. But man is false and an illusion, so this falseness must be eliminated if he is to return to the world and be born as a real person. This is what the salvation of man is. Man can only be saved when he is reborn in his mind that has become the world. Or in other words, only when his false self has completely disappeared, can he become real.

The mythical stories of human completion and people living in eternal heaven spoke of the current age: God, Buddha and heaven exist in man’s mind if his mind changes from falseness to the real mind of the origin, and he is then reborn from the origin. Until now it was the age of incompletion, an age when people read religious scriptures and just talked about Truth; but now it is the age when all people can become Truth and complete, and anyone can become a saint and an eternally living immortal. While in the past people only added to their minds, now people can become complete and live in heaven if they subtract what is in their minds. This is precisely the method of Maum Meditation – it shows you how to discard your false delusions, be born from Truth, and become a true person.

Christianity tells us we have original sin and actual sin, and Buddhism tells us everything is in our minds and that what we hold in our minds is karma. All religions tell us to cleanse and empty our minds, but this is often misunderstood. People commonly think that what is meant by this is to abandon or give up what they intended to do.

In order for man to become righteous, we must first know about the set-up of the human mind.

The human mind is like a video. This means man lives his lie in an illusion from birth. It is comparable to a video because with his eyes, ears, nose, mouth and body – his five senses – he takes pictures of all that he experiences as he lives, and stores them inside him. These become his “self” and they dictate how he lives and behaves.

As man lives out his life within this mind – this “film” – he takes pictures of his hometown, his elementary, middle and high schools, college, military service, marriage, career and religious lie; not only has he taken pictures in his mind of his entire past, but he will continue to do so even in the future of all that he sees, hears, speaks, smells and feels.

For example, anyone who has been to Miami Beach will have an image of Miami in his mind. Man’s mind is exactly the same as a camera – the images on film in the camera are not real; they are false. The actual Miami Beach is what is real. What is inside the mind is false – they are like images on a reel of film.

It is because man is living inside a video that all religions tell us to cleanse and empty our minds; it is why we are told that the blessed are the poor in spirit for the kingdom of heaven is theirs. Man has always lived inside this mind, this film, and he has never once seen or lived in the complete world. This is what sin is; what karma is.

Your whole life, including everything that happened today, was simultaneously taken as a picture the moment you saw it. Moreover you are inside that film, the picture. When you think carefully about your day today, wasn’t it all inside your mind?

Man is not born in the world. He lives in his own mind: a shadow, a copy, of the real world. Hence, he is not complete and lives inside his illusionary mind. He is dead because his mind world is false and not real. Truth is the world and falseness is one’s own mind that has taken pictures of the world. If one copies the world and lives inside what he has copied, he is not living in the world but in a picture – neither the world he lives in nor he himself living in that non-existent world exist.

Fleeting Human Life

All people have periods of happiness and unhappiness.

Even if one has a family that other people envy,

There is unhappiness within it.

He wishes for whatever causing this unhappiness to be resolved,

But when that happens, he wishes for something else.

Wishing for human happiness is a manifestation

Of the sense of inferiority in his mind.

Even if man achieves everything he wants,

He eventually dies, and the past is all a dream.

He would know what he needs to do.If man lives knowing the way to

live forever,

Man is an entity that does not know anything.

His only wish is to get or gain things that he wants,

But this wish is just an expression of his delusions.

Time flows by, and all those whose lives have come to an end

Have disappeared from the world.

Everything they wanted to achieve were like dreams,

Dreamt during a brief nap.

Those who only exist in their thoughts have vanished,

Without having done or achieved anything.

Man does not know the ways of the world

Because he has never been born in the world,

And he is not born in the world.

He does not know the principle

That he exists because the world exists.

He has made his own world by copying the things in the world,

And he lives within this mind world,

Ignorant of where he came from and where he will go.

Salvation is giving one birth in the world without time,

And allowing him to live there.

Because time does not exist there,

There is no birth, death, aging or sickness.

And because time does not exist,

One is an eternal never-dying immortal.

Man cannot prevail over time;

Only God can take man to the world that has prevailed over time;

The world that is beyond time.

Blaming the world and time,

Suffering and sadness,

Aging, sickness, birth and death,

Desires, anger and foolishness,

The five desires and seven sins;

These things all exist in human life – the world of sin,

But they do not exist in the true world – the world of God.

It is the Age When All Wars Cease to Exist

From an age when the world was moved by the human mind, it is changing to an age of the world becoming man’s mind. Namely, an age of universal order has begun. When man becomes the mind of the world by casting off his self-centered narrow mind, he will become broad-minded, and have no human minds. Therefore, his mind will always be at leisure. Narrow minds filled with greed and attitudes that only one’s self is right and other people are wrong have given rise to countless wars everywhere; innumerable people have died from wars because of the incomplete human mind. When man’s mind becomes the mind of the world, everyone will become one. People will accept and understand each other; and because there will no longer be any narrow-minded greed, all wars cease to exist.

It is Now the Age of Universal Order

The life of the natural order of the Universe, or universal order, is a life of great nature and a life of Truth. Universal order is when there is no forcedness or stubbornness. It is a life that is lived according to the way things happen, which is possible when these minds do not exist. When one can live a life of diligent action without blockages or strife, it means he lives with the mind of nature. One is then able to live with true love and affection, like nature; he lives for the people of the world without the mind that he does so.

How free would people be, if they could live like this! There would be no conflicts or blockages in their minds; people would be able to trust each other and love others more than they love themselves. When people’s minds become the mind of nature and when all people live a life of universal order, it will be world worth living in!

Now is the time of human completion, the age of universal order, and it is the time for the world to become one.

When Man Casts Away His Human Mind, the World Will Become a Truly Peaceful and Good Place to Live

Man lives according to his own will inside an illusionary world that he has made, turning back on Truth, his original self. The world is, therefore, in the state of instability. Man lives keeping scarps in his mind – everything he has learned and all that has happened to him – but these things are far from Truth, and they cause him to lose his human nature and care only about himself. If man recovers his human nature, the world will become truly peaceful. It will become a world where people can trust and believe in one another.

When one’s preconceptions and habits are thrown away, he will be able to accept everything in the world. To accept is to be absent of judgment and discrimination; when one sees things just as they are, when he just lives. If one has a framework of pictures in his mind, then many things catch in his mind and bother him, which cause him to blame others and the world. But because your mind exists, everything is your fault. When the people of the world blame themselves, everyone will have an accepting mind; they will be able to live without conflict and everyone will live well. He will no longer have feelings of inferiority and live well. People’s narrow, negative minds will become positive, practical and active, and thus, the world will become a good place to live.

Academics, the law and all that is man-made in the world will naturally disappear with time. The world where people live without the mind of self – in other words, the world of righteous people – will be a truly joyful place to live, for all people will be of one mind. Without the minds of suffering and burden, there will days of endless laughter. It will be a world without division between nations; a just world where people are honored to live for others; a world where people work with laughter and live joyfully; a world where all people live well. There will be no fear of death because people will live forever with Truth existing within them, and their selves born in the true world. This world and the world beyond will become one.

What is the Ultimate Plan for the Human Race?

Everyone is originally one without you and me, but man has lived envying and being jealous of each other and the world has been divided by different ideology, religion and race. At the moment, no plan is at hand for the human race to cooperate and work together. Man has to learn to become the complete oneness and Truth. Therefore, he will live by universal order. Truth must be taught to people so that they learn to govern countries and treat people with the complete Truth. It would be the best for people to repent and realize their wrong-doings; know that everything is their own fault; subtract the false bubble that is their selves and live as true people.

Man would find life in the world easier if he knew and accepted the ways of the world. Only when man recovers his true self, the origin, will he live with the mind that has become one with the world, the mind of the origin. At such a time, he will have wisdom and only then will there be a proper plan for human life.

Once one sees from the viewpoint of the world, coming up with such a plan is very easy. When everyone in the human race discards his individual wrongful notions, habits and consciousness, and changes to the mind of the world, everyone will become of one mind and every thought and action will be right. A proper plan will then emerge because everyone’s mind will be one.

The basics and foundation of all education should be how to find the right mind and live a righteous life. If one has a righteous mind, his actions and life will accordingly be righteous also. As he will have a rightful way of thinking, he will be able to acknowledge what is right even when it is not his own.

Man does not know what is right or what is proper because of the self-centered mind he has. When he throws this away and become the mind of the world, he will have a righteous mind.

The New World Begins…

Now is the age of the new world,

when the consciousness of the world reaches its peak –

an era when all religions are transcended.

It is the age,

when one can go to heaven while he is living;

when he who was dead inside his mind

becomes one who is living.

Now is the time, when anyone can find his true self and become a true person.

Now is the age when he can know the ways of the world.

A time when man no longer struggles to appease his feelings of inferiority,

and all people in the world become one;

a time when there are no divisions between nations

and everyone is one;

a time when religion, philosophy and ideology become one

and man lives working for the betterment of others;

a time when the sky has become low and within reach,

and people live in the sky, no longer feel inferior

and lack for nothing.

In other words, it has become a time of achieving completion when people do not die after death,

but live forever;

a time of endless laughter;

a time when there are no songs of lamentation for the dead;

a time when man has wisdom and no thoughts or delusions,

a time when the world is a good place to live

because people are no longer foolish and work hard;

a time of a humanitarian world living in harmony;

a time when all become one and live forever;

a time when one becomes Truth;

a time when one lives with universal order;

a time without greed,

when no one thieves or robs

and people do not do each other harm.

In a time when we can live without the law,

we must discard the self-centered human mind

and change it into the mind of Truth.

It is the time to live reborn in the land of Truth.

The Reason Man is Born into This World is to Live Forever

When the Creator created man, he created man to resemble himself but man made his own self-centered world by copying what is in the Creator’s world. This enabled civilization to progress but man lost his original nature and lived selfishly.

Man’s greed led to the accelerated population of the world. When the world is populated to capacity, the Creator will come to the world to save man. If mankind had lived without greed, they would have died out naturally. Human life, like the life of a mayfly, is meaningless but it is the will of the Creator to harvest man when the human population is at its densest – that is, to save people when there are as many people living in the world as possible. Now is the time of the harvest. Instead of dying full of regrets and resentment, man should live forever in the land of God by becoming one with the mind of God. The reason and purpose man comes into the world is to live forever.

The Time of Subtraction when Man Can Fulfill Human Completion Has Begun

Man is born with a mind that wants to possess, so he seeks satisfaction and happiness through possession. However, there is no end to such means; ultimately, he cannot be satisfied or happy. A mind full of greed is always anguished; and a life lived following one’s anguish is without action; it is a life with thoughts leading only to more thoughts.

If the past was the age of adding to one’s mind, now the age of subtracting what is in his mind has begun. Human completion is becoming God’s mind by subtracting all of one’s own mind.

One will then be able to live well for he will have wisdom and his mind that is the Soul and Spirit will live eternally.

Subtracting all human mind – all the mind one has, that he has “eaten” – is completion.

The Plan for Human Completion: Completely Subtract the Human Mind World and Be Reborn as Truth

Man has tried to achieve completion for a long time through various methods, by practicing asceticism or by following various religions. And although traces of these efforts to achieve completion can be seen and heard everywhere, there has never been a method, or plan, to achieve completion.

If one has achieved Truth, he must have a plan, a method, for anyone to do the same. A place that enables one to become Truth can do so because it has Truth.

Countless people have lived and passed away, but there has never been a method for human completion because the complete existence, the owner of the original foundation, had not come to the world. Man has been waiting for this Savior because only this true existence knows the way to become Truth, and can make man into Truth. The Savior is the one who saves the world. The plan for saving the world is to make man’s mind one with the mind of the origin of the world, and to enable man to be reborn in the land of Truth. Only the Savior knows how to do this, because the human mind world does not know the things of the world, Truth. The systematic, scientific method to erase the false human mind world – to become one with the mind of the real world when one completely erases the false human mind world – is openly available to the public at Maum Meditation. This is the plan for human completion. By completely subtracting and erasing the human mind world, the place of Truth, completion, is revealed and when one is reborn in this world he achieves human completion. Being reborn as Truth is human completion.

Episode 1. A Tale Of A King Of China

There was a king of China in history. The king had everything. He owned 5 castles and more than 80 wives. He had already owned everything since he was born. He had nothing to be jealous about as he conquered many other areas. Even for him, time passed by and he became 80 years old. He became sick. As his health deteriorated even more, he asked a favor to his most trustworthy servant. “I have enjoyed everything in the world but humans eventually grow old and die. I no longer need my kingdom, wives and wealth. If anyone can give me eternal life, I will give everything I have in return. Send out leaflets throughout the country.”

The leaflets are sent out around the country and the king waited for 3~4 years. No one turned out for the eternal life. His health deteriorated and eventually passed away.

Even a person who has everything in the world becomes sick and dies. Humans eventually vanish, so the most important thing in our life must be everlasting life. Even the king who had everything said that he could exchange what he owned for everlasting life.

Wanderer, do not wander about

Without knowing where to go

Find your way and find your resting place

Know that the place to rest is not outside but inside you

Even if the whole universe disappears

The eternal resting place remains as it is and is alive

This kingdom is the land of the Creator

Only this land is the land of Truth

Where there is eternal life.

Stop your wandering

Repent and be reborn as Truth

Then you will know the ways of the world

Episode 16. The Woodcutter And the Fairy

Once upon a time, a woodcutter saved a deer from danger. To return the favor, the deer would grant him a wish. The woodcutter said that he would want to have a wife since he could not easily find someone to marry in his old age.

The deer told him about a pond where fairies come down to bathe and also told him that he should hide one of the fairies’ wing dress to prevent her from flying back into the sky. Later, the woodcutter married the fairy who had to stay here on earth, had children, and lived happily.

One day, the ever happy woodcutter forgot the deer’s words that he should not give the wing dress back to the fairy until they had three children. When they had two children, he showed the wing dress to the fairy. Then, the fairy put her wing dress on and returned to the sky with her children.

The woodcutter was left alone and lived in grief. But one day, he grasped a chance to take a bucket from the sky. And he was able to go to the kingdom of heaven to be with his family again.

Even though the woodcutter lived together with the fairy and his children in the kingdom of heaven, he was not happy all the time as he still missed his mother on Earth.

The woodcutter whined that he missed his mother. So the fairy let him go to travel by heaven’s horse and advised him not to get off the horse even on the land.

The woodcutter came down to the land from the sky and met his mother. His mother told him to have red bean porridge before leaving. He was having the porridge on the horse’s back and a dollop of hot porridge fell on the horse foot. The horse reared in fright, dropped him off and flew up to the sky. The woodcutter was left on the land again and could never ever return to the kingdom of heaven.

This tale is a traditional fairy tale of Korea but similar stories can be found in many other countries as well. It is a tale of losing the chance to live in the kingdom of heaven due to lingering attachments to the land. It also corresponds with many other stories, like Sodom and Gomorrah where they broke their word that they would go looking forward only and not look back; consequently, they became salt pillars. These tales advise us of attachments and lingering feelings in our human mind. They have lessons about stupidity that humans fundamentally have, and so they have been passed down through the many generations throughout human history.

Even though a gold block is in front of you, you cannot pick it up because you refuse to let go of the poo block that you are holding onto with both hands: this is human’s attachment. Although you get to live in the kingdom of heaven, you abandon that opportunity by your own will because of your lingering attachment to your past: that is how foolish we are. If you throw away that attachment and foolishness, you would not look back any more. Rather, you would live with gold blocks in the kingdom of heaven. It sounds so true; however, one who moves his address to heaven will live in the kingdom of heaven and one who has attachments to the land will live on the land. Let us not become a woodcutter who could not go to the kingdom of heaven because of his lingering attachment to the land. I would like for you to attain enlightenment about what it is to abandon the lingering attachments to land and to live in heaven, through teacher Woo Myung’s poem below.

The sounds of birds, the sounds of animals

The sounds of the wind, the sounds of everything

The sounds of humans

All are the sounds of heaven

Sound comes from the shape

People have their own language

People have different regional languages

Humans along with the whole of creation

Come from heaven and live in heaven

But because humans do not have heaven in their minds

They live on the earth

One who is born on the earth lives on the earth

One who is born in heaven lives in heaven

One whose body and mind

Are reborn as the body and mind of heaven

Lives in heaven

One who just has his own body and mind

Lives on the earth

When one cleanses his body and mind – his self – and

When that self is no more

When the universe becomes his self

The universe is within him

One who has heaven lives in heaven

Which is the kingdom of heaven

Which is the forever-living, never-dying kingdom

Because it is the living soul and spirit of Truth

It is everlasting and never-dying

Life Is a Moment of 0.000001 Seconds

Our life is finite. The average lifespan of human is 70~80 years. Some people will have an even shorter lifeas a result ofdeadly accidents or illnesses. When we are young, it doesn’t seem that life is so short and we don’t realize that life passes by in the blink of an eye. But you soon get to your 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, etc. Man only has one chance in the world and then he leaves as quickly as he came into the world. That thing called life is too short. That’s why many are very curious about this thing called life. Why were we born? Why do humans live? And where do we go after we die? Mankind has been researching since we can remember and putting a lot of effort into finding the solution, for example, through philosophy or religion. As it implies, this is the most important matter in one’s life.

Humans are born, go to school, grow up and graduate; they then go into society and earn money;they also marry and have children;they become middle-aged and then old; andthey eventually leave the world. This would sum up most everyone’s life. Let’s think about it from the viewpoint of the Universe. The Earth we live on is like the stars we see in the Universe. There are countless planets like the Earth in the Universe. To compare a human being to the Earth, the Earthis billions of times bigger than a human. Human beings who live on this enormous planet, are also insignificant beings, and when compared to the Earth, are tinier than ants. The lifespan of the Earth would be at least a billion years. Human’s life span is even shorter than one hundred years. Moreover, if we compare our life to the everlasting life of the Universe, we just live for a moment lasting 0.000001 seconds. Thinking in this way, our life is really futile.

We were not born or live our life by our own will. We compulsorily live for a determined lifespan and die. Life is like a rollercoaster so good things happen but, from time to time, some crisis comes along. No one can foresee even the nearest future. You might be joyful at the moment but one day, everyone will become a gray-haired old man/woman and that last day on Earth will inevitably arrive.

The wisest person in the world is the one who knows to prepare for what will happen. It is not important whether you are young and better off right now. Once we were born as a human being, we must find the answer, a definite answer, to why we live and where we go after we die. If we live aware of it, how comforting and good it is to live.

Literally, time flies like an arrow and our life is a mere 0.000001 seconds. It is surely important to accomplish many things within this time but the most important is to find our true self that lives forever while living. Then, if we become that true self, we live as we are forever even after this body vanishes. Shouldn’t we meet the method to achieve it and live like it? It seems that this task must be done while living. Fortunately, the time has come when anyone can become the true self.

What is everlasting in the world is the Universe. This Universe is not the material universe with the stars, moon, earth and sun we think of. It is the Universe before the material universe, which is never-dying: the infinite emptiness. This existence is the non-material, eternally-living existence composed of soul and spirit, in other words, light and energy. This is actually our true self and also our true mind. Through meditation, we can throw away our false mind and become one with the mind of this existence. If we are born again as the soul of the never-dying true self, this soul of the true self lives forever as it is even though the body vanishes one day. The generation when you can achieve this has already come. The teacher who teaches righteously to help people to become this exists in the world, too. Everyone is born in the world once. But if you just live a short life of a hundred years, or relatively 0.000001 seconds, and leave, there is no meaning at all. Right? The answer is not far away. I hope you meet this right method soon so that we can all live happily forever as the true self.

All People End Up Dying – Everyone Who Does Not Become Truth While Living Will End Up Dying

Many people wonder what will happen after they die, but man does not have the answer or solution to this question. While people of each religion all believe that they will go to heaven after death, they end up dying and are not able to live because they live inside the mind worlds that they themselves have made.

This is because the human mind world is a picture world copied from the real world; a world where one lives having put what is the world’s inside him. A person living in his mind does not exist as he is false. Just as one’s self recorded and seen on a videotape is an image and not real, man is dead because he is not born in the world and he does not have the Soul and Spirit of Truth. He is dead because his soul has not been resurrected. In the mind world that the false self, the delusion, has drawn or made, because of its attachments it thinks that it is the delusion, the shadow of the fleshly human body, that lives.

Even in a video people eat and talk but what happens in the video is not real. Only what is born in the world is real but because man lives inside a video that has recorded the world, he is false. He who is alive has the mind of the world but he whose true soul is not born inside his mind ends up dying forever because he does not have a true soul.

Changing the human mind that is pictures to God’s mind is repentance and true penitence. Man is not real so when a person who has not become real and is not born in the real land dies, he ends up dying forever but for one who has, he will remain alive because his Soul and Spirit is born. Only he who throws away his false self completely, goes to the real land, and is reborn in that land, will live. Everybody else will die.
